The Trinity™ flooring has thanks to the handscraped surface a patina that makes the flooring very durable against wear and tear, like scratches and other damage, since the patinated surface makes potential scratches hard to see. The appearance of the Trinity™ flooring is imroved over time when scratches and wear add to the patinated surface.
We treat the Trinity™ flooring with three layers of Osmo Color hardwax-oil before the flooring is delivered to our customers. The hardwax-oil makes the flooring durable and easily maintained. The flooring is cleaned by mopping it with Osmo Color Wisch-Fix detergent. The detergent is inteded for wax-oiled wooden flooring. The detergent contain a small amount of oil that maintain the surface of the flooring and treat the wood, which delays the need of maintenance oiling.
One of the best properties of the Trinity™ flooring is that it never has to be sanded. The idea with the handscaped surface is that the flooring is allowed to recieve wear and tear and be patinated throughtout the years. If, with time, the flooring starts to looks worn or if it is hard to clean it properly, then it is time for a maintenance oiling. First the floor is to be cleaned thoroughly. When the flooring has dried a thin layer of colorless protective wax (Osmo Color 3062, matte hardwax-oil for wooden flooring) is applied. If the flooring is worn-out (for example in public spaces), it can first be treated with a layer of coloursed oilwax in the appropriate color before the layer of protective wax. The maintanence oiling is easily done by oneself. If necessary, contact us for further information.
If there are grease stains on the floor can these be removed with a polishing cloth and Osmo Color detergent spray. The floor can also easily be cleaned over larger areas with a polisher and a white (light dirt), red (greasy dirt) or brown (extremely dirty floor) backing pad. In private spaces the white or the red pad is of course enough. The brown backing pad is used for example for puplic spaces in need of a thorough cleaning before a maintenance oiling.
If the floor has a more difficult stain that won.t go away, one can easily scrape away the stain from the surface so that pure wood can be seen. Oil in the right colour is then applied. Scraping tools and instuctions for the scraping is available from our customer service.
Trinity™ engineered flooring is easy and quick to install. The planks are joined by the convenient click mechanism and no glue is required for this. The flooring is installed, together with an underlay, directly on the subfloor. As a subfloor works all dry, solid surfaces, such as, concrete, cast plaster floors, chip- and plasterboards as well as old engineered flooring, laminate flooring and plastic mat. The subfloor has to be sufficently even and stable, and therefore can not the flooring be installed for example on worn-out engineered flooring before it has been evened out.
Under the flooring, a suitable underlay is needed. If the Trinity™ engineered flooring is installed directly on concrete or on a cast plaster floor, we recommend using the PARADOR Duo-Protect underlay. If the flooring is installed on dry surfaces, such as plasterboard, wooden board, old engineeded flooring or plastic mat, we recommend using PARADOR Uno-Protect underlay. When ordering Trinity™ flooring, remember to also order a suitable underlay.
Trinity™ engineered flooring can be installed 10 metres in the length direction and 8 metres in the width direction. Between the flooring and the wall an expansion space of at least 10 mm is needed. If you want to lay the flooring in a bigger space, please contact the customer service for further information.
Trinity™ engineered flooring can be installed on both electrical and hot-water underfloor heating. Always read through the provided installation guide before the installation. Our customer services is glad to help with any technical questions about Trinity™ flooring.
Trinity™ plank flooring can be installed on hot-water underlfoor heating. The Trinity™ plank is groove jointed, which makes the installation faster and smoother. The floor can be glued directly on concrete or on cast plaster floor, or screwed on joists.
Before the Trinity™ flooring can be glued to the underfloor, the concrete has to be completely dry. As glue, a MS-polymer, which is a waterfree and elastic glue, is used, for example Bona R850. The glue is spread out on the concrete with a steelcomb after which the plank is placed. When a row of planks are installed, hefty weights are placed to ensure that the plank sticks to the glue. It is adviced to leave the weights in place over the night.
The elastic glue allows the floor to live, therefore it is important to leave an expansion space between the floor and the wall of at least 10 mm. The Trinity™ planks is not glued at the joints, but only to the floor. As a result, the floor does not live much and it is stable to walk on.
Trinity™ can also be glued onto plywood. In old appartments the floor can often be uneven and unstable. In these situations it is enough to reinforce the underfloor with a woodden board. We recommend that the underfloor is reinforced with plywood. Old chipboards are not necessarily durable enough for gluing the plank flooring to, therefore is plywood the safest alternative. The installation is done in the same way as with concrete, but if plywood is used as underfloor it is possible to secure the Trinity™ plank with a pneumatic nail gun. The nail is shot through the male joint. This ways weights do not have to be used. The nails will not be visible due to them being shot through the joint.
In case the underfloor is not durable enough, it is possible to use an Uzin Softsonic-reinforcmentmat. The Softsonic-mat is glued to the underfloor and the Trinity™ plank is glued to the mat. The mat is only 3 mm thick, so the floor does not rise too much. It is also easier to install the mat than to install the plywood.
When Trinity™ planks longer than 3 metres are installed, reinforced underfloor, such as the Softsonic-mat and plywood, is always required.
Our customer service is glad to answer any questions you may have regaring the installation of Trinity™ flooring.
Trinity™ plank flooring can be screwed onto joists if the distance betweem them is 400 mm or less. The plankflooring is screwed with flooring screws in the male joint on the long side. When the floor is screwed onto joists an extention space between the wall and the floor of at least 10 mm is needed. Remember to always read the installation guide before the installation commences.
